Job Description

  • Boeing are seeking a security professional to join our team here in Asia. The successful candidate will implement company policy, procedures, processes and programs for the purpose of safeguarding people, the environment, property and information ensuring compliance with all related Company and Statutory requirements.
  • The candidate will consult / advise and supply technical expertise to assess risk. The successful candidate must be able to provide guidance and solve problems related to company information security, industrial security, investigations export compliance, emergency disaster preparedness, crisis management, computing security and other special projects including security coordination and support of regional air shows and exhibitions.
  • He or she will develop office and residential security plans, interface with alarm vendors, conduct pre-event advance visits, accompany traveling principles and create detailed after-action reports. The candidate will assist in coordinating executive protection services in the Asia region to identified executive personnel within the company and distinguished visitors.
  • The successful candidate must be able to develop a strong working relationship with local, national and international law enforcement agencies. The candidate should be able to perform additional duties as directed by Security & Fire Protection (S&FP) management; which could include conduct of corporate investigations related to compromise of sensitive data, fraud, workplace violence, or any other violation of company policies by employees.
  • Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Designs, develops, implements and adapts  organizational policies, programs, processes and procedures for the purpose of safeguarding people, property, information and the safety environment while ensuring compliance with applicable government and company security and fire regulations.  Works with minimal direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches.
    • Develops plans and leads responses to emergencies and crises acting as security, fire and protection focal on behalf of a regional leader.
    • Leads on a range of critical compliance and risk assessments for host nation and corporate customers including partnering with stakeholders to select new or facilitate the decommissioning of Boeing sites.
    • Develops and integrates security risk management solutions in complex and volatile contexts across multi-disciplinary situations.
    • Leads internal and external investigative tasks, including high-visibility legislated inquiries into bribery and corrupt practices and due diligence reporting.
    • Leads and integrates executive protection support services and International travel security policies and processes to include the provision of high risk travel requirements.
    • Leads the deployment of safety and security plans for high profile events e.g., International air shows, flight tests and customer events.
    • Leads the design, implementation and maintenance of operating policies and procedures pertinent to security, fire and protection charter.
    • Leads the provisions of Export Control at both host nation and local level.
    • Engages with national and local law enforcement, security and intelligence agencies to execute host nations’ security clearance and vetting requirements and develop mutually beneficial working relationships.
    • Leads the preparation and delivery of critical data, incident response protocols and guidelines, including security documentation in support of bid writing to US or national standards.
    • Provides security, fire and protection expertise to management and cross-functional teams in strategic, tactical, operational and business planning activities, including interfacing with senior leaders on critical security, fire and protection matters. 
    • Leads the design and delivery of training to meet changes in safety and security legislation, requirements and customer demands. Supports, advises and trains less experienced and knowledgeable personnel.

  • This requisition is for an international, locally hired position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. All relocation packages / allowances is approved on a case by case basis, subject to the approval of the management.

Qualifications:                                            

  • Skills and Knowledge
    • An astute understanding and knowledge of the practices and principles associated with risk analysis and assessment. This would include the development of robust risk management programs for a range of business related issues that impact on an organization's strategic and operational-level crisis and security management capability.
    • Experience: The candidate will have held a responsible position, preferably within a law enforcement or government agency in the region, and / or as a professional security practitioner with commercial experience for a minimum of 8-10 years.
    • Personal Skills: The candidate must possess a strong ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior management, business clients, colleagues and external parties.
    • Knowledge: The candidate must possess a sound knowledge of security risk assessment and management, executive protection, crisis management, business continuity, risk evaluations, loss prevention, security training, fiscal management and asset protection. The successful candidate will possess information protection skills and a working knowledge of data protection practices in the international community along with proficiency with technology and IT devices, operations and standards that impact information protection.
    • The position will be located in our Boeing Beijing Office, with primary responsibility for greater China; and provide assistance in other SE Asian locations, if required.
  • Competencies
    • Actively seek information to understand customer's circumstances, problems, expectations and needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential in developing customer relations and working with both, senior/executive management.
    • Must be able to develop an established network of industry contacts and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships for the purpose of achievement of business development goals.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to assess and conduct international office/site surveys and assessment and be able to document the findings in a clear and concise reporting format.
    • Must possess a high degree of multicultural awareness, with a comprehensive knowledge of the political, security and social issues associated with operating in often challenging or volatile risk environments or situations.
    • Must possess information protection skills and a working knowledge of data protection practices in the international community.
    • The successful candidate must have the ability to orally present and communicate results to senior international company management.
    • Relevant experience preferably in a Security Risk Management. The successful candidate will have a multi-disciplinary background with a high level of skills and ability.
