The American Chamber of Commerce in the People's Republic of China is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose membership comprises more than 3,300 individuals from 900 companies operating across China. The chamber's nationwide mission is to help American companies succeed in China through advocacy, information, networking and business support services. AmCham China is the only officially recognized chamber of commerce representing American business in mainland China. With offices in Beijing, Tianjin, Dalian, Shenyang and Wuhan, AmCham China has more than 50 working groups, and holds more than 250 events each year. 

Job Description

Tasks include:

* Conducting conducting healthcare-related policy and market intelligence research

* Editing HCP publications (e.g. HCP reports, AmCham China healthcare-related publications, etc)

* Managing the development of HCP communications materials (e.g. PR materials, member newsletter, etc)

* Maintaining the HCP website

* Assisting in maintaining HCP communications with member companies and related Chinese and US government partners

* Supporting for organization, communication, and logistics for HCP programs (e.g. trade missions, training programs, and conferences)

* Supporting HCP internal meetings and industry-related HCP Working Group meetings (e.g. organization, communication, meeting minutes, etc)

* Supporting HCP membership programs (e.g. maintaining membership database, supporting new member on-boarding, etc)

* Assisting with AmCham Healthcare Forum projects, as needed

* Occasional translation work

 

Required Skills:
Qualifications:

*Experience in government relations and/or policy and market research

*Experience in writing and editing (in English)

*Strong project management and communication skills

*Familiarity with China related policy issues, background in healthcare (a plus)

Please note that AmCham China cannot assist in any way transportation, or lodging. A stipend is provided to those interns not receiving course credit or who are required to complete an internship as part of an academic program. We are seeking both Chinese and expatriate candidates. Chinese candidates should be current students. Expatriate candidates should either be current students or recent graduates. To be eligible to be selected, expatriate applicants MUST either a) be in China on a current X (student) visa, that will be valid throughout the internship, or b) be able to apply for an F (business) visa in the country of their origin. AmCham China can provide a 3 month F visa invitation letter.
